Northville High School’s student-led Color My World Club will host its annual Color Run on September 21 to raise awareness for mental health and teen suicide prevention.

Northville High School’s student-led Color My World Club will host its annual Color Run on Sunday, September 21, at 11:00 a.m. at the school’s track. The event, which raises awareness for mental health and teen suicide prevention, will feature music, games, raffles, yoga, face painting, henna, Kona Ice, prizes, and more.

In-person registration will be available at the event, but t-shirts are not guaranteed for registrations after September 6. Payment will be accepted via Zelle or cash. In the event of thunderstorms, the Color Run will be postponed to Sunday, September 28, at the same time and location.

The student-led Color My World Club was founded in 2017 by Northville High student Annie Heitmeier following the death of a classmate by suicide. The club meets monthly to discuss teen challenges such as depression, eating disorders, and balancing academics with extracurricular activities. In addition to hosting events like the Color Run, the club provides self-care packages during stressful periods and operates the Zen Den, a safe space where students can connect.

Over the years, the Color Run has become a signature fundraiser for the club, helping support peer-to-peer mental health outreach and programs led by students within the school community.
